I didn’t spend a lot of time outdoors growing up. That is, I didn’t spend very much time appreciating the outdoors. I mowed the lawn, played organized sports outside, rode my bike solely as a means of transportation, and attempted the ill fated tree/outdoor fort as most young boys are wont to do. That’s about as far as it went. I hated running on my own, didn’t have any rocks to climb, was under-equipped to mountain bike, and the only backpacking I did was to and from school.

In spite of (or because of, I haven’t decided which and I may never know…or care) my basement centric youth, I have come to realize a fully fledged passion for the great outdoors and the myriad of adventures one can have if they cross that thresh hold.

This blog is an attempt to chronicle my active exploits around my basecamp known as the Twin Cities, greater Minnesota, and beyond.
